Warm greetings to all in this chilly winter..

In my last post I briefed about supraja janan or preconception planning in ayurveda..Today I will elaborate its importance..

It is said to be the first among garbha sanskar..garbha is the foetus and sanskar is education a foetus receives in the womb..ayurveda has described that a calm and stable mind resides inside a healthy body.three gunas satva, tamas and rajas guna ppredominate the mental status of ones mind and as AYURVEDA CLEARLY STATES THAT the foods we take ,the lifestyle we stick to enhances or diminishes our mental capacities..

Ayurveda also equally focuses the role of a man and woman in the preconception phase, husband is the giver of the seed and the wife acts as a field where the seed is sown. Many people are of the view that field is inaminate or a passive recipient,as woman were said to have no major role in decision making or other activities in the prehistoric eras..

But that point of view holds no relevance in todays world and we here are focussing on the importance and relevance ayurveda holds in our lives nowadays.

Hello everyone..

As I take you forward in the world of Ayurveda and its glorious existence I want all of you to embrace the truth that ayurveda is the mother of all medical sciences that prevail today..

Ayurveda has always been and always will be into the indian lives..its a complete science that teaches you how to live at your fullest.

The other day I read that Actress Rani Mukherjee who is expecting her first child wants a very traditional Godbharai or baby shower as we all call it nowadays..It sounds chic that‘s why we love using the term..

But do you really know that these traditions not only have a social importance but even a great medical significance too. So my first few blog series will offer detailed information on the Garbha sanskars .

These deal right from the preconception time till post partum or after delivery…first I would begin with the basic query that is it really essential for pre conception consultation (as it is widely known these days).??

Yes it definitely is….the lives we lead today leave us mentally, emotionally, spiritually strained and exhausted, thereby the idea of having a baby when crops up we think of taking a healthy diet, some prenatal vitamins and our job is done..But we are entirely wrong because A man and woman both have a very essential role to play in preconception rituals.

Supraja janan" or eu-maternity as conceptualised in Ayurveda, involves the preparation of the couple planning pregnancy, three months prior to conception. Pregnancy when occurs by choice is far healthier rather when occurs by chance...Though both are welcome equally.

In my next post I will elaborate what exactly is Supraja janan and how is it defined in Ayurveda, its medical significance and relevance in today’s world.

Till then have a great time and happy winters…

Hair Loss is a common issue for both men and women. There are many factor which affect health of your hair.It is estimated that 95% of hair loss is genetic. On average, we lose 50 to 100 strands which are replaced by new follicles. However, due to certain factors like illness, stress and hormonal imbalance, hair growth is slowed down and thinning occurs.

Here are 7 tips to stop hair fall:

1) Avoid using harsh Shampoo

Shampoos and hair products contain chemicals, which can increase hair loss. Do not use harsh shampoos and try to avoid permanent hair dyes and perms. When you visit a salon, remember  to have a patch test done 24 hours before any hair treatment.

2) Visit your Doctor

Visit your doctor for a check up. Hair loss can indicate certain undiagnosed illnesses and vitamin deficiency. With the help of tests, the cause of hair loss can be found whether it is due to thyroid or some vitamin deficiency.

3) Exercise regularly to reduce stress

Stress speed up your hair loss. Exercise can help reduce stress, 30 minutes of aerobic or cardiovascular exercise each day will increase your blood circulation and your ability to deal stress.

4) Healthy Diet for Strong and Healthy Hair

Your scalp should be healthy and free of any fungus/dandruff. Include antioxidants in your diet to protect yourself from free radicals. Take vitamin C and E, which is found in lemon, broccoli, strawberries, spinach almonds.

5) Improve Digestion with Healthy Food

Your hair is related to digestion. Constipation and indigestion can cause hair fall. It is important that your keep a healthy diet and take acidophilus after meals to improve digestion.

6) Eat Rich Iron Food

Iron deficiency can impact your scalp. Iron tablets or intake of iron rich food can be used to overcome this deficiency.

7) Apple Cider Vinegar Technique

Remember that it is normal to lose 100 hair strands each day. If you hair is dry and damaged, use Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with water for final rinse after every wash.
